The 10 best styles of men's coats for 2021

Winter is, in most cases, garbage. But everything that happens there - the cold, the dark, the wet - comes with a big bonus: you can wear big coats again. The right coat is an outfit in itself, a piece that combines practicality and style like nothing else in your wardrobe. They are also quite impervious to trends. This means that even a casual shopper can stealthily create a high-quality collection - from parkas to heirloom sheepskin jackets - in a matter of years. If so, you are buying well. “Look for something good quality, stylish and versatile,” says Nick Eley, head of design at ASOS. “You want something that will last and look good. Because you are going to be wearing it a lot, you need it to work with the other clothes in your wardrobe. " Style is, of course, a consideration. But not at the expense of comfort. No man ever looked very shivering. “The most important thing to look for in a winter coat is something that will keep you warm and dry,” says Freddie Kemp, stylist at Thread. “In an ideal world, you would have a collection of all styles here, as each serves a different practical and stylistic purpose. 1. Parka jacket
This Inuit original became known worldwide in the 1950s as a staple of the US Army, adopting its famous green color and fur lining. During the Korean War, the lighter fishtail parka evolved for tropical climates and then became a favorite with mods, who donned one over their suits to stay protected on their scooters. As with everything military, it has now become a staple in the modern wardrobe. Men's ready-to-wear brands are taking more and more lessons from outdoor brands specializing in technical fabrics. This season's parkas are therefore as functional as they are stylish. “A high level of water resistance is good,” says Kemp. “Don't be afraid of artificial technical fabrics because they tend to be better than natural fabrics at protecting against the elements. If you want more warmth, look for one that has a down filling. “Go for a loose fit, but avoid being too oversized because you don't want it loose. For length, choose a style that goes from mid-thigh to knee. " 2. Puffy jacket
Another style to enjoy the outdoorsy trend is one favored by hikers and '90s ravers. Down jackets offer almost unbeatable warmth, especially for the weight of the coat itself, and if the weather is changeable, they are ideal for putting on and taking off quickly. The most common styles are cropped at the waist, cut thinner than the Michelin Man, and styled in block colors that blend as easily with the seam as waterproof pants. The more modern examples, however, add a few extras. Look for parka-style hoods and longer hems for added protection, while hiker-style details like large patch pockets or contrasting color or fabric panels update the look. 3. Long coat
Can you touch your toes? Because your coat could this season. This year, designers are opting for trench coats that are reminiscent of early military styles, puffers that look like sleeping bags, and enveloping wool coats like the one Richard Gere wore in American Gigolo. Now, unless you live beyond the Arctic Circle, there's a question of whether you need such a terrific layer, but the practicality is only half the problem here. It's more about flair. These long coats create spectacular silhouettes and often feature epic lapels. It's a coat for strutting - not shivering - in it. 4. Duffle coat
This is the coat worn by sailors and school children, generals, and preppy students. He has a long history of military service while conjuring up images of Enid Blyton's characters. What to do with the duffle coat? Well, it's super warm, waterproof (assuming you're paying for some boiled wool), and gives a warm, laid-back note when you need to wrap yourself up for a chilly date night. The trend is also tough this season with designers' ups and downs reattaching the signature flip-flops and reassembling the giant hood. 5. Heritage overcoat
As winters get milder in the UK and beyond, the overcoat has become more of a fashion item than a functional item. Designers have therefore become more creative with fabrics, colors, and shapes. Rich tones, light wools, tweeds, and checks are common themes this winter and will be the perfect anchor for your winter wardrobe. Anything that isn't out of place in the Peaky Blinders wardrobe department will work. And you can wear it in many ways. It goes with your woolen pants and your grandfather collar shirt, without looking like a Shelby pastiche. But running into less formal styles will lead to even more wear and tear on such an investment coin. 6. Winter bomber jacket
Bomber jackets have been in fashion for decades, but they take on different personalities at different times. There is a place for slim Scandi versions and sleek varsity jackets, but this season the one we see looks more like an old-fashioned flight jacket (an A1 or a G2 for lovers of men's clothing. ). The business cards are a zip front, sheepskin trim, and large patch pockets on the front. Add a heritage check and you are golden. 7. Belted coats
Is it a coat or a dressing gown? The line goes blurry with this fall-winter trend, which sees luxurious overcoats wrapped around you in a belt to keep the sartorial hug in place. And we're not talking about trench coats, which usually come with a belt, but large, soft overcoats that wouldn't look out of place in a luxury hotel bathroom. It's a great look to be sure, preferred by mobsters, rock stars, and presidents at various points in history. That means there's a lot of inspiration out there - and when you dig into it you'll find it's a surprisingly versatile coat. 8. Trench coats
The origins of the trench are as murky as the time for which it was designed. Originally claimed by Aquascutum in the 1850s, Burberry reinvented the style in 1901 when the army officer's raincoat and his legend were forged in the Belgian trenches. But it also made its mark on civvy street. From the canary yellow of Dick Tracy to the outerwear of Morgan Freeman as Detective Lt. William Somerset in Se7en, the trench coat is the revealing uniform of the private eye. 9. Raincoat
Few of the so-called wear everywhere coats are suitable for use when the weather forecast worries Noah. Materials like shearling play badly with the rain. So when the heavens open you need something more sturdy. “A raincoat has to be true to size,” says Kemp. "Don't go too thin as you risk wearing it a few layers, or too tall as it will overwhelm your form and, more importantly, let the rain in." Waterproof fabrics are a must, of course. But don't be fooled by the "water repellent," which keeps the weird downpour but not the rain, it's like taking a shower. 10. Shearling jacket
Like the trench coat, the sheepskin coat also served its time in the forces. But as befits such a luxurious and delicate material, it was far from the mud, worn by the pilots to keep them warm in the open cockpits. Shearling goes very well with several fabrics. Leather is the most obvious, but combinations of denim and wool are also great options at a more affordable price. Just make sure the rest of your outfit is toned down, to let the jacket do the talking.

Top 10 skin care tips

Skin care is the range of practices that support skin integrity, enhance its appearance and relieve skin conditions. They can include nutrition, avoidance of excessive sun exposure and appropriate use of emollients. Practices that enhance appearance include the use of cosmetics, botulinum, exfoliation, fillers, laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, peels, retinol therapy and ultrasonic skin treatment. Skin care is a routine daily procedure in many settings, such as skin that is either too dry or too moist, and prevention of dermatitis and prevention of skin injuries.
1. Use the correct cleanser for your skin type-: "For oily or acne-prone skin, a salicylic gel or benzoyl peroxide wash works great," says Dr. Ava Shamban, a dermatologist in Santa Monica. "For dry mature skin, use either a moisturizing glycolic or milky cleanser. For skin with brown spots or melasma, use a brightening wash, such as an alpha hydroxy acid cleanser."
2. Don’t use too many products-: Layering on multiple skincare products all at once is a big no-no, says Dr. Julia Tzu, an NYC-based dermatologist. It can be harsh on the skin, resulting in more breakouts and clogged pores.
3. Avoid direct heat exposure-: Don't just watch out for the sun — getting too close to heaters and fireplaces can also wreak havoc on your skin. "It causes inflammation and collagen breakdown. I recommend staying at least ten feet away," explains Dr. Debbie Palmer, a New York dermatologist. So next time you're roasting chestnuts or s'mores over an open fire, take a step back.
4. Vitamins should go on your skin, too-: A balanced diet is important, but there's more than one way to give your skin vitamins. There are also topical antioxidants, which are serums and creams that contain ingredients that nourish the skin (think vitamin C serum!). "These can really help to repair the skin from sun damage," says Dr. Palmer. Not sure how to use them? The best time to apply them is right after cleansing so that your skin can soak them in, or they can be layered under your sunscreen for added protection.
5. Apply Moisturizer After Cleansing-: Cleansing your skin is a great start but without moisturizing it directly after, you’re missing a vital skin-care step. When you apply moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp post-cleanse, you’re able to seal in that moisture to help promote all-day hydration. We like the Lancôme Absolue Velvet Cream, which is packed with SPF and anti-aging ingredients.
6. Apply Products in the Proper Order-: If you want your products to have the best chance at delivering their promised results, make sure you’re applying them in the right order. Most dermatologists recommend that you apply your skin-care products from lightest to heaviest. For example, you can start with a lightweight serum, followed by a thin moisturizer and lastly a broad-spectrum sunscreen to lock it all in.
7. Never Wear Makeup to Bed-: Even if you’re exhausted from a long day of work, make sure to set aside time to take off your makeup. When you fall asleep in your makeup, it can lead to clogged pores and potential breakouts. For that reason, you should always wash your face with a gentle cleanser to remove impurities, dirt, bacteria and makeup before hopping into bed.
8. Drink Water-: We can’t stress just how important it is to drink enough water. Studies have found that drinking enough water every day helps the superficial look of your skin, so don’t miss out on hydration.
9. Sweep up oil with a foaming face wash-: If you're breaking out along your hairline, it could be from the oil in your hair products. A foaming face wash cuts through the oil without being harsh. Don't forget sunscreen on your ears, hairline, neck, hands, and chest. Dermatologists can look at your décolleté to see how old you are. Swap out your sunscreen. Dryness, redness, and tight skin are signs that you may need to switch to a higher SPF. Try a new sunscreen and see if the issues go away in a few days.
10. Wear Sunscreen-: As a child, you likely reserved sunscreen for days spent playing outdoors and excursions to the beach. While it’s great that you layered up on those days, it’s equally important to wear broad-spectrum SPF on the not-so-sunny days, too. Despite the way the sky looks, you can still be affected by the sun’s harmful UV rays, which can cause premature skin aging and even some cancers. To reduce those risks, it’s vital to apply (and reapply) sunscreen as part of your daily skin-care routine.

How to make a Diet ?

As previously stated in the Energy Balance section above, the quantity of food and drink consumed by an individual plays a very important role in weight management. Additionally, the types of food and drink a person consumes are also very important to weight management. Not only is it important to eat a well-balanced diet in order to get the proper amount of vitamins and nutrients each day to prevent illness, but it is also important to be aware that certain qualities of foods and drinks (for example energy density, palatability, sugar content) can have profound effects on weight by affecting hunger and satiety in different ways. For example, sugary drinks like sodas are very palatable and contain a significant number of calories but do little to affect satiety. In other words, drinking sugary drinks does not help get rid of hunger but still adds many calories to a person's diet which can lead to overeating, positive energy balance, and weight gain.

Diet Food

The United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of Health and Human Services attempt to provide evidence-based recommendations for the types and amounts of certain foods people should eat to maintain a healthy diet in a document called The Dietary Guidelines for Americans. These recommendations are updated every 5 years and the most recent version (2015–2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans) recommends the following:

Eat a diet that is primarily composed of:

* A diverse selection of vegetables – like dark and leafy greens, red and orange vegetables, legumes (beans and peas)

* Whole fruits

* Whole grains

* Low fat and fat-free dairy products – like milk, yogurt, and cheese

* Foods high in protein like lean meats, seafood, poultry, eggs, and legumes, nuts, seeds, and soy products

Avoid or limit the following items:

* Trans fats

* Saturated fats – should not exceed 10% of total daily calories

* Added sugars – should not exceed 10% of total daily calories

* Salt – should consume less than 2,300 mg of salt per day

* Alcohol – limited to 1 drink per day for women and 2 drinks a day for men

Some of these recommendations have been called into question since they were released; however, most health professionals agree that a diet that is primarily composed of vegetables, leans meats, whole fruits, whole grains, nuts, and seeds is ideal for maintaining a healthy weight and overall health.

BMI & BMR

Body Mass Index (BMI)

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a value used to get a general sense of a person's overall mass and is calculated using a person's height and weight. It is more often used than weight alone to determine if an individual is underweight, normal-weight, or obese. The following two equations can be used to calculate BMI depending on the units used for height and weight.

 BMI = Weight (kg) / Height2 (m2)

                or

BMI = [ Weight (lbs) / Height2 (in2) ] x 703

Though BMI is often used to help assess for excess weight, it is by no means a perfect representation of a person's body fat percentage. For example, an individual can have a higher than normal BMI but have a normal body fat percentage if they have higher than average muscle mass because excess muscle contributes to a higher weight. The following table shows how different ranges of BMIs are often categorized into underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obese.

BMI

 Classification of Overweight and Obesity by

                                                            Body Mass Index (BMI)

Obesity

                II

Since BMI is not a perfect representation of a person's body fat percentage, other measurements like waist circumference are often used to better assess for unhealthy excess weight as it pertains to body fat. Despite not being a perfect representation of healthy and unhealthy weight, BMI is very important to value because it helps health professionals identify people who are at higher risk of developing illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol), liver disease, and some cancers. In general, as BMI increases so too does a person's risk of developing those previously stated illnesses. Additionally, regularly calculating a person's BMI can also be used to help track changes in a person's body mass over time.

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

Basal Metabolic rate (BMR) is one of the main components of a person's daily energy expenditure. BMR is defined as the amount of energy that is expended during a given amount of time by a person at rest. In other words, it is the amount of energy a person's body uses to do things like pump blood, maintain proper brain function, breakdown toxins, and ensure other bodily functions. Technically speaking, BMR is the amount of energy the body expends during the following very specific conditions: right after waking up, while in a resting state, and after fasting for 12–14 hours. Sometimes the term Resting Metabolic (RMR) is used in place of BMR but RMR is slightly different in that it is not measured under the previously listed stringent conditions and is about 10% more than BMR.

BMR is directly proportional to a person's lean body mass. In other words, the more lean body mass a person has, the higher their BMR. BMR is also affected by acute illnesses and increases with conditions like burns, fractures, infections, fevers, etc. BMR can be measured via direct and indirect calorimetry; however, it is possible to estimate a person's BMR using one of several equations that use a person's age, sex, height, and weight to calculate a fairly accurate estimate of a person's BMR. Some of the most popular and accurate equations used to calculate BMR are the original Harris-Benedict equations, the revised Harris-Benedict equations, and the Mifflin St. Jeor equation.

BMR Formulas

The original Harris-Benedict Equations are as follows:

BMR (Males) in Kcals/day = 66.47 + 13.75 (weight in kg) + 5.0 (height in cm) - 6.76 (age in years)

BMR (Females) in Kcals/day = 655.1 + 9.56 (weight in kg) + 1.85 (height in cm) – 4.68 (age in years)[11]

The revised Harris-Benedict Equations are as follows:

BMR (Males) in Kcals/day = 88.36 + 13.40 (weight in kg) + 4.8 (height in cm) – 5.68 (age in years)

BMR (Females) in Kcals/day = 447.59 + 9.25 (weight in kg) + 3.10 (height in cm) – 4.33 (age in years)[11]

The Mifflin St. Jeor Equation is as follows:

BMR (Males) in Kcals/day = 9.99 (weight in kg) + 6.25 (height in cm) – 4.92 (age in years) + 5

BMR (Females) in Kcals/day = 9.99 (weight in kg) + 6.25 (height in cm) – 4.92 (age in years) – 161[11]

The Mifflin St. Jeor Equation was found to be the most accurate predictor of BMR compared to BMR measured by direct and indirect calorimetry.

How to care for your nails post Holi

As much as it is important to keep your skin and hair free of colours this Holi, it is equally important to keep your nails colourfree too. Beauty professional Reha Mamgain says, "Most women get their manicure done right after Holi and it is absolutely impossible to get rid of the colours because they haven't ensured that their nails are colour-proof before playing with colours. It is absolutely necessary to ensure that your nails do not catch the colours and even if they do, one should be able to get rid of them soon. "After you are done playing, we suggest that you follow these remedies: -With the help of a nail polish remover, scrub out the colour from your nails. - Wash your hands with soap and water. Soak your nails in a tub of lukewarm water with some seasalt. It will help the excess colour to wash out. - Do not go in for a manicure immediately . It is best recommended to go in for a manicure at least three-four days after the festival. - Don't apply nail paint immediately after you get a manicure done. This will not let your nails breathe and can make them yellow. - Take half a lemon and apply the juice for at least fourteen days. The citric acid present in the lemon will clean your nails and will take the colour off too. - Vinegar can help too. Try soaking your fingers in a bowl of vinegar mixed with room temperature water for about half an hour. If you think it still hasn't taken off the colour completely , repeat the process. - A home remedy which is often advised by beauticians is the application of Amchur powder (dry mango powder) on your nails. Put a small quantity on your nails and then scrub it with a toothbrush.

Jessica Korda chased down long-time leader Danielle Kang and birdied the first playoff hole to win the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions in Florida.

Korda stole the show on Saturday as she covered the back nine in only 28 shots to fire an astonishing 60, and she staged another big finish to her final round to card a 66 and end the tournament level with Kang on 24 under.The top two returned to the par-three 18th on the Tranquilo course at the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club near Orlando, and Korda holed a clutch 25-foot putt for birdie which Kang could not match. Kang had slept on a two-shot lead overnight, and she looked the firm favourite to claim the season opener when she birdied the first and Korda bogeyed the third to leave Kang four clear at the top.Korda pulled one back at the sixth and both birdied seven before Korda trimmed the deficit to two at the 13th, and both traded birdie twos at the short 14th. But Kang then picked a bad time to drop her first shot of the tournament at the 15th, and Korda earned a share of the lead for the first time when she rolled in a good putt for a three at 16. Both took care of the par-five 17th in birdie-fours and headed to the 72nd tee all square, and two solid pars forced the event into extra holes - Kang signing for a 68 and Korda two shots lower.Kang was closer with the tee shots, but Korda's superb putt clinched her sixth LPGA Tour title, four of them coming on her season debut. Korda's younger sister Nelly was just two behind with five to play after she put together a sparkling run of six birdies in seven holes around the turn, but she could only manage one more birdie coming in.The younger Korda had to settle for a closing 64 and outright third place on 22 under, with South Korean In Gee Chun a distant fourth - five strokes further behind. Georgia Hall just missed out on a top-10 finish as she fired a five-birdie 66 to lead the English trio of challengers on 11 under, three better than Bronte Law and four ahead of Mel Reid.

Sevilla comfortably defeated Osasuna 2-0 to extend its winning streak in La Liga to six matches and move into the top three in the standings for the first time this season. Osasuna, sitting in 13th place, had won three of its last four league matches, including the last two. It is four points above the relegation zone. Diego Carlos found the net with a firm header off a corner kick in the 19th minute and De Jong from inside the area in the 49th.
Sevilla’s nine-sports winning streak in all competitions was ended by a 3-2 home loss to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday. Christian Benteke’s last-gasp goal hands Crystal Palace win over Brighton

Christian Benteke’s stoppage-time volley earned Crystal Palace a dramatic 2-1 victory at Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Monday, despite the visitors being second best for much of the contest. Palace took the lead as loan signing Jean-Philippe Mateta scored his first goal in English football with an improvised finish in the 28th minute. Brighton improved after the break and pulled level in the 55th minute through Joel Veltman, who swept home his first goal for Graham Potter’s side as the ball broke loose in the penalty area. The chances kept coming for Brighton as they finished the match having had 25 shots at goal. But Palace, from just three efforts, scored twice, with Benteke popping up with the winner to break Brighton hearts in the 95th minute. The win moved Palace up to 13th in the standings on 32 points. Brighton remained 16th on 26 points, four points clear of the relegation zone. “It is a massive result,” Benteke told Sky Sports. “We know we play a derby against a very good side. “It wasn’t easy, they managed to come back in the game in the second half. We put our lives on the line, tried to defend as much as we could and I had a chance to score a great goal.” Brighton came into the match unbeaten in their last six league games, but it was Palace who struck first. The finish was exquisite as Mateta, on loan from Bundesliga side Mainz 05, let the ball come through his legs before backheeling it in. Mateta’s opener was the first goal Brighton had conceded on home soil in the Premier League in 343 minutes, but their defence was rarely troubled after that.. Brighton’s finishing let them down time and again, with only five of their 25 attempts at goal hitting the target. “It is difficult, a very sore one, we did everything but get the points,” Potter told Sky Sports. “They were in our box I think twice and scored two. That is the beauty of football but it doesn’t feel so beautiful at the moment, it feels painful.” Benteke latched on to Andros Townsend’s cross to secure an unlikely victory with his first league goal since mid-December.

Health problems of women workers in the RMG sector

Bangladesh has become a key player in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector since 1978. Textiles and clothing account for about 85 percent of Bangladesh's total export earnings. Before the start of the RMG sector, the participation of women in the formal economy was low compared to men, but in the late 1980s, after targeting this sector, the scenario changed dramatically and now the 1980s percent of total employment in the RMG sector is occupied by female workers. But the health of this "women-driven sector" is neglected. Common health problems: Some common health problems garment workers experience A recent survey-based research study provided much-needed snapshot data on self-reported chronic health conditions among female garment workers. The following health conditions were reported to be the most prevalent among this population: dysuria; joint pain; hypertension; Eye sight problems; insomnia; asthma; anxiety; drop; diabetes and heart attack. The fact that a health condition such as dysuria (painful or difficult urination) is so prevalent among young female garment workers is not surprising. Urinary tract infection, vaginitis, urinary retention, sexually transmitted diseases are related to dysuria. Furthermore, asthma was also previously reported to be high among textile and garment workers (also in other countries). A high proportion of garment workers are very likely to develop asthma while working in factories.
Health care for workers: Training session for women workers in the garment sector BGMEA (Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association) recognizes the fundamental rights of workers, in particular access to sanitary facilities. Besides this, BGMEA has a complete hospital for workers in Chittagong. Another hospital for workers is being built in Mirpur, Dhaka.
